I received my Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and completed my Masters and Doctoral degrees at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where I did my graduate training in Clinical Psychology. After completing my clinical internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital & Medical Center in New York City, I worked briefly as Clinical Coordinator of a partial hospital program in Summit NJ, and also began seeing patients privately in 1989. I was licensed as a psychologist by the State of New Jersey in 1991.

Soon after completing my doctorate at Rutgers I began post-graduate training at the Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy of New York University, and graduated from that program in 1998. I began teaching as a member of the Visiting Faculty at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (Rutgers University) in 1992, teaching courses on psychoanalytic theory, psychotherapy and time-limited psychotherapy, where I continued to teach until 2012. I have also completed additional post-graduate training and supervision in couples therapy, child and adolescent treatment, family therapy and consultation, meditation, and biofeedback.

I presently hold academic appointments at Ferkhauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University, Gordon F. Dener Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University, and the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University, among others.

From 2010 to 2016 I served as Director at the
Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey (CPPNJ), a post-graduate training institute with training programs in psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and couples therapy, where I am also a member of the faculty. I supervise candidates and teach postgraduate courses at CPPNJ on psychotherapy, psychoanalytic theory, relational theory and practice.
